The battle for Asian road racing supremacy resumes this weekend, May 16-19, 2013 when the second round of the 2013 Petronas Asia Road Racing Championship, FIM Asia's premiere road race event takes place at the Sentul International Circuit in Bogor, Indonesia. MUSASHI Boon Siew Honda's Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman grabbed the spotlight in the opening round of Asia's premiere road racing contest by pulling of the rug from BEET Kawasaki's Katsuaki Fujiwara in race 1 of the Super Sports 600cc class to become the first-ever Malaysian to win in the centerpiece class of the Asia Road Racing Championship in Sepang. Fujiwara bounced back with a hard-earned victory over Azlan in Race 2 to even up matters and set the stage for a rivalry that is expected to go down the wire to the final race.

The FIM Asia CTL Euro Africa Touring 2013 will travel across two continents (Europe and Africa) in 8 days on board late-model BMW motorcycles. Total tour distance is approximately 3,000 kilometers with daily distances that will range from 120 to 420 kilometers.

Since its creation in 1998, FIM Asia’s (formerly Asian Motorcycle Union) annual General Assemblies were held at the start of each year. The Asian body of the FIM bade farewell to this tradition when it staged the 2012 FIM Asia General Assembly on December 14, 2012 at the Intercontinental Resort Bali in Bali, Indonesia. The meeting was hosted by the local FMN, Ikatan Motor Indonesia (IMI) led by their newly elected officers President Nanan Soekarna and Vice President Sadikin Aksa. The meeting was graced by the presence of no less than incumbent FIM President Vito Ippolito.

2012 MaxAsia Supermoto Championships held in Bira Circuit Thailand last Nov. 17‐18, 2012. Winners of the Round 1 podium topping the event was Thrakarn Thantong of Thailand in one and second places while Japan coming in at third to fifth places. Winners of the Asian Supermoto Championship round 2 in Bira Circuit Thailand was Ryota from Japan following him was top three places for Japan and Thailand coming the fourth and fifth position during a very wet race.

QMMF Racing Team rider Elena Rosell tried everything to put up a good show in front of her home crowd at today’s Valencia Grand Prix. She caught up with the riders in front of her, attacked and tried to overtake. But then, on the 18th of 27 laps, she lost the front in damp and difficult conditions and slid off the track. The crash was certainly not what the lady racer from Valencia deserved and expected at the final race of the season, which also meant a farewell from all her friends in the team.

Ryuichi Kiyonari lived up to his name as a world-class rider as he chalked up a double win in the SuperSports 600cc class during Round 2 of the 2012 PETRONAS Asia Road Racing Championship (ARRC) at the Sentul International Circuit, Indonesia today. The MUSASHi Boon Siew Honda Racing had a fairly smooth outing in Race 1. After stealing the holeshot, he went on to lead the 16 lap race to the final lap completing it within 24'17.001s while Malaysian teammate, Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman took second place with 24'17.515s. SuperSports 600cc defending Champion, Katsuaki Fujiwara (Manual Tech BEET Kawasaki Racing) had to be content coming in third with 24'19.476s.

Race 2 was a better outing for Norizman. He made up for the mistakes he made in Race 1 to claim the chequered flag, completing it with total time, 19'50.181s followed by Mohd Amirul Ariff Musa (Pachie Yuzy Honda Racing) with 19'50.237s and Rey, 19'51.589s had to settle for third, 19'51.589s.

Hiroki Ono, who had been stealing the highlight in the Asia Dream Cup all weekend, capped off a successful weekend with another victory in Race 2. Ono bagged his second win of the season with a total time of 19'04.693s followed again by Okubo second and Apiwat third with 19'04.900s and 19'05.368s respectively.
